Welcome home Natlan's Kokomi!
<..>

On a guarantee after losing 50/50 to Diluc, welcome home Mualani! I really feel like she's the character Kokomi should've been. Mualani channels a girlboss vibe, and her combat abilities reflect that very well. This is a DPS Kokofish at its finest. No crit penalty and a DPS-oriented kit, not just in frankly useless constellations. Even the story of the People of the Springs in the Archon Quest (haven't done the story / world quests yet) screams Kokomi redemption arc for character development to me. And let's not forget Mavuika's look into what looked an awful lot like Enkanomiya. What a story for sure, so many references.

Speaking of which, Kachina's disappearance.. I actually cried when I witnessed that. IRL stress combined with the quest is what I think caused it. It reminded me a lot of an episode of High School DxD BorN, where Asia was teleported into the "Dimensional Gap", where she would eventually die if not rescued. If that's the reference that was made there, Hoyo you're deviants (but I like deviants), and you retold that story marvellously, despite the lack of blue humour. Well done!

So far I'm liking Natlan a lot, and the plot seems quite mature too. While I don't think that death should be overused as a mature plot device, I do find the storytelling about Atea and Mallko's demise quite daring to be included in the maximum visibility Archon quests. I like that change of pace. If this is the result of the CCP's carte blanche for the golden goose called MiHoYo and Genshin Impact, then thank you Xi Jinping for making that decision. I don't think this will be the last time we see such rich storytelling, and I'm all for it.
